All Wound Up

Biography

All Wound Up has been together for four years now; with their lead guitarist and back-up vocalist Jeremy, for nine months. They are from Western Washington, in the I-5 Corridor; from Gig Harbor to Federal Way to Bellingham.

After playing around the 150 show, and being influenced by Bad Religion, Metallica, Alice in Chains, ACDC, Poison, and The Police to start a band, Troy, Jeremy, Sean, and Joseph now release their first album "Hero" on Tooth & Nail Records. It has 12 songs including "100% of Nothing," "Bittersweet," and the title track which are easily three of the freshest-sounding melodic punk-based rock songs to be released this year.

Their day time alter-egos:

Troy works in Loss Prevention at Target, Sean attends Green River Community College and works at a coffee shop. Joe works odd jobs "and sleeps too much." Jeremy attends Tacoma Community College, and is a waiter at the Tides in Gig Harbor.

The favorite bands that All Wound Up have played out with include MxPx, Shorthanded, Formula One, 540, Acceptance, Dogwood and Slick Shoes.

For their songwriting, Troy writes most of the lyrics. Try/Sean/Jeremy write the main sections for all the songs, and the band works out the total arrangements together. "The lyrics are fairly personal," Troy says. "They are about things in my life: problems, relationships, etc. and how I've dealt with them. My morals and beliefs that I grew up with come through in the songs that I write."

Asking where they see themselves in a year, Troy says, "Cover of Rolling Stone, Counting Down the Top Ten on TRL with Carson Daly."
