Acoustic EP: Seattle Sessions

The Classic Crime had a collection of seven songs that they wrote while writing their debut album "Albatross" and touring from 2005 to 2007. These songs were different... so different they weren't sure they would flow in the context of their next record. Some of the songs were written through some pretty hard times on the road, and subsequently their content is about dealing with the sacrifices the band needed to make in order to pursue their goals. The songs had more truth than sugar, more human than animal . These songs also seemed to sound better acoustic and raw, without the layers and tuning of a big production, because that was how they were written. In order to do these songs justice in the context of an album, it made sense to put them next to each other under the same production. So on April 23rd, 2007 the band entered Red Room Studios in their hometown of Seattle and recorded these seven songs. Their motivation was simple: Primarily, to give their fans and friends something new, honest, and different, and Secondly, to perk the ears of listeners who may not know who they are and who might be predisposed to blues, folk and indie pop music. The band named the EP "Seattle Sessions" because it was recorded in Seattle within seven studio sessions. Enjoy it and pick up your copy on November 6th!

Quick Bio

The Classic Crime isn't limited to scenes, trends or even genres -- at least not to anything more specifically than "rock" (like say U2 or the Foo Fighters). They may hail from the rich music scene of Seattle, but they aren't hipsters and they don't play grunge. With giant infectious melodies and occasional dalliances with prog-math and a newfound sense of whimsy, The Classic Crime is for everybody.
